New Year: Wedding Callout

With the start of 2007, one thing that I started thinking about is just how many of my friends (who have all moved all over the place) have gotten married during recent times... Since December 2005 up till now, in little more than a year, quite a few of my friends have gotten married -- Aamir, Fahad, Osama, Huzaif... and now, this week and the next, Hitesh and Raheel will join the list... In particular, December and January seem to be popular months for marriage, as both me and my brother Kamran married in January, and other friends have previous married in these months as well (Aqeel, Omair, Aamir, Huzaif, Saadat, and now Hitesh and Raheel).

So now then, who is left? Who might tie the knot at the end of 2007/start of 2008? Time for these people to start making plans ;)... So, here is a call out to Anchit, Irfan, Mamun, Mohammed, Naveed, Ziyad, Danish, Ali, and Asim... Lets see who bites...

So, to Aamir, Fahad, Osama, and Huzaif: Congratulations, hope you are enjoying married life!

And Hitesh and Raheel: Congratulations in advance! Hope you have wonderful experiences...

Victim of Vandalism

A friend was a victim of vandalism, as his car's tire was slashed and windshield destroyed. He has pictures on his blog, and is offering a reward... For some reason, he seems to think tow truck companies may have done it. I think his reasoning is bizarre, cause based on that and the number of people his blog makes fun of, he'd be having to look over his shoulder on a daily basis ;)

Anyways, here's hoping the perpetrators are caught and punished to Tian's satisfaction, although it looks like the reward for castration has been pulled...

Wajahat & Tayaba

When the couple met, they were never alone except in public places. They ate ice cream on the beach and had long talks.
It's common in Islamic cultures to marry relatives, Wajahat says: "It's preferred, culturally and religiously."

Now first of all, I once took a class with Wajahat, so seeing the article was neat because of that. Secondly, I may not be an expert on this, but I don't believe I have ever read before that marrying relatives is preferred religiously (culturally in places, maybe, but not religiously). Thirdly, the quote above from the article brought back memories, only in my case me and my fiancee (not a relative) shared spicy bar-b-qued corn instead of ice cream on the beach :).

As if I have anything interesting to say...

Here starts this blog, where I suppose I can pretend I do have interesting stuff to say. Then once nobody reads it, I can realize just how mistaken I was!

Oh well...

So what might I do here... hmm... observations about technology, politics, religion, news, games...

I still have to wonder if anyone would care though, seeing as how I am just one more voice in a mass muddle of voices...

If anyone, I will blame Tian (www.tian.cc), who encouraged me to start a blog.

Also, I suppose the real reason I am doing this is to try something somewhat new out. So if there isn't much satisfaction for me for whatever reason, I suppose I may end up quitting too...
